Join the Golden Gate Chapter on November 9th & 10th on the 3-mile east course at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, CA for our fall '19 HDPS.

Thunderhill is a beautiful and challenging race track, making it a great place to learn the art of high-performance driving. GGC's dedicated team of instructors have extensive and varied experience. Some have backgrounds in racing. Many started in our program as a students, like you, and advanced through to coaching. BMW CCA instructors are trained and qualified via an intensive two-day instructor training program to ensure your safety and a consistent, high quality learning experience.

Our events are driving schools, not open track days; every student is assigned an instructor for the duration of the event.  Our focus is on safety and learning. The price for this 2 day event is $749 for BMW CCA members. For non-members, the price is $797, and 1 year membership is included.

A new opportunity is now available for a select group of enthusiasts who want to take the HPDS experience to the next level — Group S. This is a solo run group and is intended for the most advanced students. Although there is no in-car instruction, Group S is not just open lapping. Students will work with instructors both in the classroom and on the track (with advanced driving exercises). Group S will foster advanced skills that are useful whether driving on clear track or in traffic. Group S drivers must already be comfortable in traffic, and will work on becoming even more proficient in traffic. The Chief Driving Instructors will review your qualifications for entry into this run group. Please ensure all relevant driving experience is noted in your registration.

The Advanced Data Coaching (ADC) option is available to both advanced (A) run group and Group S drivers. The ADC program is designed to take some of the guesswork out of evaluating driver performance. A data acquisition system and video camera will be mounted to your car. Before each session, you will meet with your driving coach to discuss goals. After each session, your data and video will be analyzed, progress will be assessed, and new goals will be set. This allows you to focus on developing the skills that are most important for you.  Group A drivers in ADC will have some in-car instruction, but the focus will be on the data. Registration for ADC program does not guarantee admission. Please ensure all relevant driving experience is noted in your registration.

Our HPDS and Advanced Data Coaching programs receive rave reviews from driving enthusiasts every year.  You'll go home with new skills that you can apply to your daily driving as well as some great memories of doing laps at this fantastic racetrack.
