Instructor, staff, and student safety are top priorities in GGC programs. If GGC holds its annual fall track school at Thunderhill, it will look very different. To tackle the challenges of COVID-19, we’re planning several changes, including: no in-car instruction, outdoor classrooms, contact-free check-ins and waivers, and other social distancing protocols.
In-car instruction may be on hold for a bit. Even if you prefer to wait until 2021 before resuming instruction, please answer the questions about instruction methods.

Highlights of the Current Risk Mitigation Plan
Driving instructors will use lead/follow instruction, with some data coaching.
- Lead/follow format for less experienced students will be 1-on-1
- Lead/follow format for A/B will have each instructor lead a small pack of students, until students are signed off for open lapping
- For A, B, & S we'll expand the use of data-based coaching
Prior to the event, web-based seminars will be available for both lead/follow instruction and data coaching.
The classrooms will be open-air, underneath the shade structures in the paddock. For the data coaching classroom, plexiglass sneeze guards will be used to mitigate risk for coaches/students working together.
Check-in protocols will be modified to eliminate passing paper/pens/helmets back and forth. The process will be electronic and contact-free.
Face coverings will be mandatory.
Anyone with recent symptoms or recent exposure to anyone with a confirmed diagnosis must skip the event.
